The focus of our work

Our work with For Profit organisations had been varied over 21 years. As the CSR conversation evolved from talk to action, the needs of our clients changed and we’ve created new processes to meet those needs.

Our flagship process reflects the bulk of the work that we do – to seek out and secure long-term mutually beneficial partners for our For Profit clients. This process is called HeartSmart®. We have refined this process over more than 20 years, creating it for our first client AMP in 1995 and honing it ever since with over 20 companies including Kellogg’s, SEEK, Pfizer, Diageo, Tetley, CUA, MLC, News Corp, Vodafone, a global entertainment company, Contiki and may more!


If you are serious about creating a long term (at least 3 years) partnership with a cause or charity, one that reflects your company or brand’s personality and meets your commercial objectives, then this process will find the perfect partner for you.

To find the perfect partner that fits on so many levels, you have to look hard. We do the searching for you, as well as ask the right questions. When you’ve spent 21 years honing your craft as we have, you know what works and what doesn’t. Our day-to-day work with both the For Profit and For Purpose sectors keeps us on our toes, current and attuned to each other’s needs and wants, and that flows directly to you, our client.

We also provide a range of services for organisations who are already actively engaged in partnering, these services including advice on how to effectively communicate your cause partnership – Talk the Walk’. Reviewing & assessing the effectiveness of an existing partnership (Partner Check), and reconfiguring & repackaging an entire community engagement portfolio (WholeHeart).

As an early adopter of mutual benefit partnerships with 21 years’ standing, we have a great deal to share and we are committed to educating the For Profit sector through regular free webinars, speaking at conferences and by initiating, funding and interpreting important research.

HeartSmart® is our 10 step process for seeking out and securing the perfect cause partner that achieves all your social and business objectives. There is no ‘it’ll do’ with HeartSmart®. There are 2 versions to select, each with a different price point. HeartSmart® full service or HeartSmart® DIY.

We’ve recently implemented HeartSmart® for Vodafone Foundation, Financial Services Council, News Corp, Disney Australia and Carman’s museli. Award winning partnerships for SEEK, Kellogg’s and Atari have arisen from this process.

DoGooding® campaign – the power of altruism


Cavill + Co’s WholeHeart process helps organisations that have an established community engagement structure (Program or Foundation) to refine, reconfigure and repackage the portfolio so that the activities are more focused, impactful and fully integrated and aligned to business strategy and goals.

We’ve done this for Vodafone Foundation, IAG Foundation, Kmart, Australia Post, 4logik Alliance, Pfizer and Qantas.

Many of our client’s partnerships have lasted for 6 years and quite a few have gone for 9 and 15 years! Much of this has to do with how well it is set up in the first place. Sometimes partnerships can go awry and need an honest & external/independent review of the partnership to determine if it is salvageable or time to exit. Our PartnerCheck will do this for you.
